Does the way we dress impact our life?

In today’s society people are judged by the way they dress. Fashion has become one of the most influential factors when looking at a person based on their appearance. When at home it doesn'tmatter what you wear. You could be wearing underwear and just a bra and no one would say anything. You have a sense of security when at home. But, when you dress to go out somewhere this becomes an issue ("The Way You"). The way we dress shows people what kind of person you may be. It can define your personality and your interests in life. It can also illustrate your way of life ("The Way You"). It shows people that you have respect for yourself as well as others. The way you dress also shows people how you value yourself and it affects how people perceive you.

If one is in a classroom environment and they show up in pajamas, the professor will think the student is unprofessional. He or she will have a bad outlook on the person. They will think that he is lazy and that he does not take school seriously. This may lead to a bad impression as well. If you come to class wearing a suit or in work clothes the professor will think that you have a good paying job and that you are successful. They will also think that you have your life on track. This may also cause them to be more lenient towards you because they will know that you have a lot going on ("The Way You").

If a person goes to a job interview wearing inappropriate clothes it is more likely that will choose a person wearing more presentable clothing. Even though the person wearing inappropriate clothes may be a better employee, they will still pick the person wearing the appropriate outfit because they will be expected to perform the job better. This is because what you wear can make a first impression on its self. If one shows up wearing a baggy cheap shirt they will not be treated professionally.

The thing is our society is based on looks. People say that we should have the freedom to wear whatever we want. They also say that we should not judge people by the way they dress. This is a positive statement but in the real world, it's not true. People subconsciously judge people in their minds by the way look even if they don’t mean too. It’s better to dress to impress or you might just get left…
